A refined urban residence designed to balance openness, comfort, and metropolitan views.
New York | Spatial Planning & Interior Design
Developed as a contemporary private apartment within a dense urban setting, this project explores how spatial clarity and material restraint can transform a compact footprint into a calm and highly livable home. The design prioritises openness and continuity, allowing the primary living spaces to function as a unified environment while maintaining distinct zones for dining, relaxation, and daily routines.
Large, glazed openings frame expansive city views, establishing a constant visual connection to the surrounding skyline while drawing natural light deep into the interior. The layout is carefully organised to preserve these sightlines, ensuring that the exterior panorama becomes an integral component of the spatial experience. High-rise apartments in Midtown often emphasise views as a defining feature, with floor-to-ceiling glazing used to maximise daylight and urban outlooks.
A restrained palette of warm wood finishes, light stone surfaces, and soft textiles creates a cohesive and sophisticated atmosphere that contrasts gently with the intensity of the city outside. Clean architectural lines and minimal detailing allow the scale of the space and the quality of light to define the interior character rather than decorative elements.
The resulting interior is a composed urban retreat — a residence that offers comfort and intimacy while remaining fully engaged with the energy and verticality of its metropolitan context.
